Al Del Bene

Al Del Bene started doing stand-up in Boston at 18. He led sketch-improv group Al and the Monkeys, moved to New York in 1998, and spent years grinding through the underground scene before becoming a regular at the Laugh Factory on the Sunset Strip by 2006. From there: touring sold-out arenas with Dane Cook, USO shows for US troops in Kuwait and Iraq, Comedian of the Year at the LA Comedy Awards in 2012. In 2014 he moved to Sydney with his wife and two kids, and the local scene got a lot more interesting.

His style is loud, physical, and completely unfiltered, the kind of comedian who throws himself at the material and lands it. He writes about marriage, kids, being an American who's still figuring out Australia, the small daily frustrations that turn out to be everyone's frustrations once someone actually says them out loud. The self-deprecation is real, not a bit.

Since landing in Sydney, Al has performed at the Sydney Opera House alongside Bill Burr, appeared in the Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase, and turned up on The Comedy Channel, Network 10, and Just for Laughs. Earlier credits include HBO's Tourgasm, Comics Unleashed, and Showtime's Jon Lovitz Presents. He performs regularly at venues like Kookaburra's Comedy and works as a corporate MC and event host.
