Jess Fuchs: Crowd Work Chaos, Global Stages, Sydney’s Funniest Frequency

Jess Fuchs is a Sydney comedian, writer, and actress who has been making audiences lose it across three continents, and she's only just warming up. Growing up in a big, loud, hilarious family in Sydney gave her the storytelling bug early; dyslexia made the written word a lifelong nemesis, so she leaned hard into talking instead. After studying Communication and Film at UTS, she packed her bags for New York in 2015, fell into TV production, and found stand-up through the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade. Stages across NYC (including Gotham Comedy Club), Boston, Toronto's Second City, Paris, and London followed, until the pandemic dragged her home.
Regulars at Kookaburra's Comedy already know Jess operates on a completely different frequency. She overshares with purpose, body image, dyslexia, aunty life, travel disasters, years of medical receptionist horror stories, and somehow makes it all feel like your funniest friend finally got a microphone. The crowd work is fast, chaotic, and genuinely unpredictable: the kind where you're laughing before you've even processed what happened. A regular host and emcee at The Comedy Store Sydney, she's opened for Fortune Feimster and a stack of international names, co-created the sell-out live show "One For The Girls & The Gays", and her Melbourne International Comedy Festival show "Sex Jokes For Women" scored five stars and an encore. Add the comedy interview series "thRIFFting" (filmed entirely inside vintage shops, because of course it is) and the weekly podcast "What The Fuchs?!" and you've got someone who simply never stops.
2025 brought her debut special "Thick & Thin" to YouTube, a sharp, funny, and genuinely moving hour covering body image, dyslexia, and live audience confessions nobody saw coming. Brand partnerships with Netflix, Hinge, Vegemite, Modibodi, and M&M's round out a résumé that keeps growing, because eventually everyone figures out that Jess Fuchs is the funniest person in the room.
